Sharpened Word – Taking Education Beyond The Classroom

By Sophia

As the official partner for all Sama-Sama Talk, we are proud to present you Sharpened Word!

Who Is Sharpened Word?

Sharpened Word

Established since October 2015, Sharpened Word (SW), a NGO under the auspices of the Perak Society of Performing Arts (PSPA), is an interactive platform that brings together aspiring and established talents, creative artists and the community. Here in SW, creative artists who come from a diversity of genres are encouraged to showcase their works to the public, using both English and Bahasa Malaysia as a medium.

Through the sessions, the audience is able to meet and network with these invited artists directly, and also the opportunity to engage actively in our Q&A sessions and panel discussions.

Besides organising talk sessions, SW also conducts one-to-one interviews with selected speakers, discussing in depth their interests, their works and more importantly, to elaborate on how creativity plays a significant part in their work. SW have regularly uploaded the proceedings of our events and interviews onto our social network.

Do check them out in their Facebook and YouTube channel. They are also reachable through their official website.

SW have taken great effort to encourage diversity in all the sessions and this is obvious with their meticulous panel speaker selection. This is not only to give participants a wider perspective of issues discussed but also to demonstrate the immense talents our country possesses.

SW aims to take education beyond the classroom, in the hope of benefiting the younger generation.

Since March 2018, SW is also collaborating with Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) in holding our monthly gathering at their office premise.

SW congregates every third Saturday of the month from 2-5pm.
